Dr. Marco Zierhut received the Young Investigator Award at this year's general meeting of the Chairholders of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (Lehrstuhlinhaber für Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie – LIPPs e.V.), which took place in January on the campus of the University Hospital of Bonn. He was honored for his outstanding research on "The combination of oxytocin and mindfulness-based group therapy for empathy and negative symptoms in schizophrenia spectrum disorders - A double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled pilot study". The award includes €4,000, an invitation to the general meeting of the chair holders, and a lecture on the prize work.
Since 2021, the Young Investigator Award has been presented annually to recognize outstanding research in the fields of psychiatry and psychotherapy.
